‘The Silk Cloth & The Bed Of Thorns’ – Our Mental Health Issues

‘Deep Trauma that Led to Deep Mental Issues’

We often find tension within our communities, leading to unconscious behavior that causes conflict in both our personal lives and among our peers. This conflict teaches us to believe that we need to endure suffering. The suffering I’m referring to is the negative self-perception that erodes our true beliefs about ourselves. Our true selves are like a delicate silk cloth thrown onto a bed of thorns. To free ourselves from this entanglement, we must unlearn the negative belief system ingrained in us through past conditioning. Then, we can re-learn and eliminate the negative belief system that currently grips our communities.

It’s painful to know your worth when you’ve been told throughout your life that you are worthless. It’s like trying to envision a successful future while constantly battling the illusion that your past and present issues are easier to fall back on. As we grow up in challenging, high-risk communities filled with social evils, our beautiful imagination fades away as we struggle to battle our negative thoughts. Our traumatic experiences easily influence our conscious thoughts and cloud our awareness. This causes our true selves to stretch and tear, while the harsh environment remains steadfast.

Self-actualization is the only means of breaking free from the prison in which we find ourselves. We must remove the silk cloth piece by piece from the bed of thorns to prevent our precious lives from disintegrating. We are valuable and deserve so much more!

Here’s a poem I wrote in 1998 called “Carry On”:

Carry on
Carry on, even when your heart is weak, because giving up will deal a blow
Your fear will start to build up, and your self-esteem will be low
You may feel demotivated, teaming up with a rope
You may spend more time alone but must be brave to cope
I may not know very much, but I know that weaker people build anger and animosity
Keep the enthusiasm for life and be proud of who you are
Find a sense of belonging and stand out, shining like a star
We all live our destiny that turns our dreams and goals into reality
The Lord knows and watches over all of us because he has given us abilities
I will not say “hardships have taken my life”
If a wolf can chew its leg out of a trap, why can’t a broken child survive?
I can’t tell you to work hard if your strength is your weakness
I can’t tell you to love if hatred is part of your nature
Live your life to the fullest, and happiness will come your way
If you love your reason to live, happiness will surely stay
Hardships are meant to fight the storm for your own good
Use this message positively, and you will be burning fungus wood
Take a moment to consider this message
Neglecting your talents and abilities could lead to the devastation of generations.
