‘I appreciate you more because of the road I’ve traveled. My story brought me to you, and I wouldn’t revise a word of my past if it led me anywhere but to your door.’ – Aaron Polson
Growing up as a teenager was tough. As the third eldest of four siblings, I often had to compete for love and affection from my parents. This made me seek a sense of belonging outside my home, and I ended up staying with three different guardians. Feeling unloved, I adopted a rebellious attitude toward adult authority and struggled in school. I started imitating the gangsters in my community and my life was heading towards destruction.
Nobody except my grandma spoke about love with me, and this affected me deeply. Growing up in a high-risk community without love and support from trusted individuals, I felt the negative force of limitations affecting my life.
Now, I have learned to love again despite my negative conditioning. I believe that feeling unloved is not always because no one is giving love, but sometimes it’s because we fail to see the love around us.
Here are two powerful life coaching tips that may help you find love again:
1. Work on eradicating negative self-talk in your life.
2. Start believing in your worth and value.
